Provision 2 Free and Reduced Price Policy Statement

Miami Public Schools National School Lunch and Severe Need Breakfast Programs are operating under Provision 2. This program provides free meals to all students regardless of free and reduced meal status. Provision 2 was initiated August 2022 and will remain in effect for four years. At any time the district may return to standard procedures. The status of Provision 2 will be reconsidered for extension during the 2026-2027 school year. Miami Public Schools will collect socioeconomic data such as  local data collected by the city or county, local SNAP certification data, population, employment rates, school enrollment, median household income, and additional data as required to apply for Provision 2 extension. The district meets all criteria for certification outlined in 7 CFR 245.9(b).
